Cathay Pacific in short
Cathay Pacific, an airline that is based in Hongkong, was founded in 1946. The homebase of Cathay Pacific is the Hong Kong International Airport. The airline consists of 146 passenger planes and has won the 'World's Best Airline' prize several times already.
Check-in with Cathay Pacific is easy and fast. There are different ways in which you can choose to check-in. You can for instance make use of the Cathay Pacific check-in counters, or by using the selfservice kiosk on the airport. You can also check-in online by using your computer or mobile phone. Checking-in online is possible from 48 hours until 90 minutes before departure.
You are allowed one free piece of cabin baggage along with an accessory, for instance a handbag or a laptop. Your cabin baggage can be a maximum of 56 x36 x23 cm (lenght x width x height).
You are also allowed a free piece of checked baggage on longer flights, (which can even be two free pieces of handbaggage in some cases). The suitcase is allowed to be a maximum of 30kg if you are flying Economy class, 35kg if you are flying Premium Economy, 40 if you are flying Business and 50kg if you are flying Frst class. With a total of two pieces of checked baggage for every class except for First class, where you are allowed to take 3 pieces of checked baggage with you. The amount in weight that you are allowed to take with you also depends on your Marco Polo Club Membership tier, which can increase the maximum weight of your checked baggage by up to 20kg.
The in-flight service is different for every travel class. On longer flights, you can expect an entertainment system, on which you can play movies and listen to music for instance. Besides this, meals and drinks are included in every one of the classes.
Cathay Pacific has four different travel classes. Economy class, which is the standard and least expensive class. Drinks, snacks and special neck support are included. On long flights, you are able to make use of the entertainment system, where you can watch movies and play music. There is also the Premium Economy Class, which can be used on longer, international flights. This class provides more comfort and extra space. Business class is more luxurious than the previous two classes, and it includes a luxurious meal service as well as chairs that can be switched into beds. The First class is only available on certain long flights. This class offers the best of Cathay Pacific's in-flight service.
